In our last issue we announced the death, in London, at the age of 48 years, caused by congestion of the lungs, of Dr. Chuckerbutty, and we now proceed to redeem our promise of placing on record a short sketch of his life and career. It appears from a narrative published in the Indian Mirror that Soorjee Coomar Chuckerbutty lost both his parents at the age of six years, and was then obliged to push his own way in the world.
